K1 is a 45-unit condo development project designed for a private contractor, Kareway Homes. Located in the Takhini neighborhood of Whitehorse, near Yukon University and in close proximity to surrounding trails and outdoor recreation. The 48,000 sf, 4-storey wood frame building benefits from beautiful upper-level views, including large private balconies. Office space is provided on the ground level to create a vibrant and inviting mixed-use community environment.

A priority for the design was to provide efficient use of interior spaces and maximize the potential of the site to bring much needed affordable market housing stock to Whitehorse. The building features a mix of 1-bedroom, 1-bedroom + den, and 2-bedroom suites with custom integrated millwork designed to provide a high degree of comfort and functionality, even in the smallest units.
